Store Policies
Because We Care
Welcome to True North Forge, a small Scottish workshop run by Katie and Graeme. We create handmade rings and memorial jewellery using carefully selected materials, including Titanium, Black Zirconium, Damascus Steel, Stainless Steel and precious metals.
Every piece is individually made to order, with a focus on craftsmanship, durability and personal service. These policies explain what you can expect from us and what we ask you to check before ordering.
Agreement to Our Policies
By placing an order through our website, you confirm that you have read and agreed to these Store Policies.
Nothing in these policies affects your statutory consumer rights.
Order Cancellations and Changes
Our rings and memorial jewellery are individually made to the specifications selected when ordering. These may include the ring size, width, profile, finish, inlay, engraving and personal materials.
Because these pieces are made specifically for you, the usual change-of-mind cancellation rights do not normally apply.
If you need to cancel or change an order, please contact Katie as soon as possible at hello@truenorthforge.co.uk. We will always try to help where we can, but production may begin shortly after an order is placed. Once materials have been ordered or work has begun, cancellation or changes may no longer be possible.
Ring Sizing
We offer a complimentary ring sizer with UK ring orders. If you select this option, we can hold your order until you have confirmed your final size.
Ring size can vary depending on temperature, time of day, ring width and personal fit preference. For the most accurate result, we recommend using our ring sizer, being professionally measured by a jeweller or sending us an existing well-fitting ring to measure.
We cannot accept measurements taken using flexible plastic sizers or adjustable multi-ring measuring tools because these may not provide an accurate result.
Please read our Ring Sizing Guide before confirming your size. The customer is responsible for selecting and confirming the required size.
Alternative Metal Ring Sizing Remakes
Our alternative-metal rings cannot normally be resized after completion due to the way they are made.
If we have made the size ordered but the finished ring does not fit, this is not considered a manufacturing fault. However, we offer a replacement ring for 50% of the original ring price when requested within 30 days of receiving your ring.
Memorial Jewellery
Memorial jewellery is created specifically for you and may incorporate ashes, hair, fur or other personal materials. Completed memorial pieces cannot normally be cancelled or returned because you have changed your mind.
Please carefully check your ring size, engraving, colour choices, personalisation and visible or hidden ashes selections before confirming your order.
Every memorial piece is handmade. Minor differences in colour, pattern and material placement may occur, particularly when working with ashes and other naturally varying materials. These variations are part of the individual nature of the finished jewellery and are not considered faults.
Any personal material not used in your jewellery will be treated respectfully and returned with your completed piece wherever possible. Please only send the amount requested and follow the instructions provided with your memorial collection pack.
Bespoke and Handmade Items
Every True North Forge piece is made individually rather than mass-produced.
Please carefully review the size, width, profile, finish, inlay, engraving and other personalisation details shown on your order confirmation. If anything is incorrect, contact Katie as soon as possible.
Handmade pieces and natural materials may vary slightly from product photographs. These small differences are part of the character of individually made jewellery and do not affect its quality or durability.
Natural Materials
Natural and individually patterned materials such as meteorite, fossil, wood, opal and stone will vary in colour, texture, markings and pattern.
Product photographs are representative examples only. We cannot guarantee an exact match to a photographed ring or control the precise placement of natural markings within an inlay.
These natural variations help make every ring individual and are not considered faults.
Faulty, Incorrect or Misdescribed Items
Every piece is carefully inspected before dispatch. If you believe your item is faulty, has been made incorrectly or does not match its description, please contact Katie with your order details and photographs where possible.
We may need to inspect the item before confirming what has happened and the appropriate next step.
Faults do not include accidental damage, normal wear and tear, natural material variation, damage caused by incorrect care or a ring not fitting when it was made in the size ordered.
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights.
Returns
Rings and memorial jewellery made to your chosen specifications cannot normally be returned simply because you have changed your mind or no longer want the item.
We cannot accept change-of-mind returns for personalised, engraved, bespoke or memorial pieces, or for rings made in a customer’s chosen size, width, profile, finish or inlay combination.
This does not limit your rights if an item is faulty.
Please contact Katie before returning anything.
Repolishing Service
We offer a professional repolishing service for rings originally made by True North Forge.
The service costs £40 and includes refinishing, inspection of the ring and UK return delivery. Customers are responsible for arranging and paying for secure postage to our workshop.
Repolishing can refresh the finish and reduce signs of everyday wear, but deep marks or damage may not always be completely removable. We will contact you before proceeding if the ring requires work beyond the standard repolishing service.
Making Times
Making times begin once we have all the information and materials required to start your order. If you have asked us to hold production while you confirm your ring size, the making time will begin after your final size has been received.
More complex pieces, including memorial jewellery, heirloom-material rings and Superconductor rings, may occasionally require additional time. Any different making time will be shown on the relevant listing or discussed with you.
Express Making
Express Making is available on eligible products for an additional £50.
This means your jewellery will be made within seven days. Delivery time is separate and must also be allowed for.
Express Making begins once we have received all the information, sizing and personal materials required to make your piece. Selecting an express delivery service does not shorten the workshop making time unless Express Making has also been purchased.
If you need your ring for a specific date, please contact Katie before ordering so we can confirm whether the deadline is achievable.
UK Delivery
We offer free Royal Mail Tracked 48 delivery on UK orders.
Delivery upgrades, including Royal Mail Tracked 24, may be available at checkout. These services apply after your jewellery has been completed and dispatched.
UK orders typically arrive within one to two working days after dispatch, depending on the service selected. Delivery estimates are not guaranteed delivery dates and may occasionally be affected by circumstances outside our control.
International Delivery
We ship rings to selected international destinations using tracked delivery services.
International orders typically arrive within approximately 10 to 14 working days after dispatch. Customs processing may extend this time and is outside our control.
Customers are responsible for any import duties, taxes or customs charges applied by the destination country unless these have been collected at checkout.
International prices may vary because of local taxes, duties, currency conversion and regional market settings. The price displayed for the selected market will apply at checkout.
Memorial jewellery containing ashes or other personal materials is currently available within the UK only due to differing international regulations.
Delivery Problems
Please check the delivery address carefully before placing your order.
If you notice an error, contact Katie as soon as possible. We cannot guarantee that an address can be changed after an order has been dispatched.
If your parcel appears to be delayed, damaged or missing, please contact us so we can check the tracking information and explain the next step.
Need Help?
If you have any questions before ordering, Katie is always happy to help. We will contact you if we notice a possible issue with your order before beginning work.
