Using Our Website
You may use our website to browse our products, read our guides and purchase goods for personal use.
You must not misuse the website, attempt to interfere with its operation, introduce harmful material or use its content for any unlawful purpose.
We may update, change or withdraw parts of the website when necessary. We cannot guarantee that the website will always be available without interruption or error.
Product Information
We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, options and prices are accurate.
Every True North Forge piece is individually handmade. Slight differences may occur between product photographs and the finished item.
Natural and individually patterned materials including meteorite, fossil, wood, opal, stone, Damascus steel and personal materials will naturally vary in colour, pattern, texture and placement. Product photographs are representative examples and an exact match cannot be guaranteed.
These natural and handmade variations are not considered faults.
Placing an Order
When you place an order, you are responsible for checking that all details are correct, including the ring size, width, profile, finish, material, inlay, engraving, personalisation, delivery address and contact information.
After placing your order, you will receive an order confirmation. This confirms that we have received your order.
We reserve the right to contact you for further information or clarification before beginning work. If we cannot accept or complete an order, we will contact you and refund any payment made for the affected item.
Prices and Payment
The price charged will be the price displayed at checkout when your order is placed.
Prices may vary between countries or regions because of taxes, duties, currency conversion and regional market settings.
Any applicable delivery costs and optional upgrades will be shown before payment is completed.
We may change our prices at any time, but this will not affect orders already accepted unless there has been an obvious pricing error. If an obvious error occurs, we will contact you before proceeding and give you the option to pay the correct price or cancel the affected item for a refund.
Orders must be paid for using one of the payment methods available at checkout.
Handmade and Personalised Orders
Our rings and memorial jewellery are individually made to the specifications selected when ordering. These may include size, width, profile, finish, inlay, engraving and personal materials.
Goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised cannot normally be cancelled or returned simply because you have changed your mind.
Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel an order. We will try to help where possible, but changes or cancellation may not be possible once materials have been ordered or production has begun.
Please see our Return and Refund Policy for full details.
Ring Sizing
Customers are responsible for selecting and confirming the required ring size.
We offer a complimentary ring sizer with UK ring orders and can hold production until the final size has been confirmed.
Our alternative-metal rings cannot normally be resized once completed. If we make the size ordered but the ring does not fit, this is not considered a manufacturing fault.
Our voluntary sizing-remake service may be available for 50% of the original ring price when requested within 30 days of receiving the ring, subject to the terms of our sizing policy.
Personal and Memorial Materials
Where an order incorporates ashes, hair, fur, wood, fabric, heirloom metal or another personal material, you are responsible for confirming that you have the right and permission to provide that material to us.
Please follow our instructions when packaging and sending personal materials. We are not responsible for personal materials before they have been safely received by our workshop.
We will treat all personal materials with care and respect. Any unused material will be returned with the finished piece wherever possible.
Working with personal and heirloom materials carries some unavoidable risk. We will contact you before proceeding if we believe a material may be unsuitable or if the requested work could place it at unreasonable risk.
Making Times
Current making times are displayed on the relevant product pages and begin once we have received all the information, confirmed sizing and personal materials needed to start your order.
Making times are estimates unless we have expressly agreed otherwise with you in writing.
More complex pieces, including memorial jewellery, heirloom-material rings and Superconductor rings, may occasionally require additional time. We will contact you if there is a significant delay.
Express Making
Express Making is available for eligible products for an additional £50 and means the jewellery will be made within seven days.
The seven-day period begins once we have received everything required to make the piece, including confirmed sizing and any personal materials.
Delivery time is separate. Choosing an upgraded delivery service does not shorten the workshop making time unless Express Making has also been purchased.
Delivery
Please check your delivery address carefully before completing your order.
Delivery estimates begin after the order has been completed and dispatched. They are not guaranteed delivery dates unless a guaranteed service has been expressly agreed.
We are not responsible for delays caused by customs processing or other circumstances outside our reasonable control. However, this does not affect our responsibility for ensuring that goods ordered by consumers are delivered in accordance with applicable UK consumer law.
International customers are responsible for any import duties, taxes or customs charges imposed by the destination country unless these were collected at checkout.
If a parcel appears to be delayed, damaged or missing, please contact us so we can investigate.
Faulty, Incorrect or Misdescribed Goods
If you believe an item is faulty, incorrectly made or does not match its description, please contact us with your order details and photographs where possible.
We may need to inspect the item before confirming what has happened.
We will cover reasonable return costs
Nothing in these terms limits the rights or remedies available to you under UK consumer law.
Care and Everyday Wear
Jewellery may develop marks and changes in appearance through ordinary wear.
Customers are responsible for following the care guidance supplied with the item. Accidental damage, normal wear and tear, damage caused by incorrect care and natural material variation are not manufacturing faults.
We may be able to offer a paid repair or refinishing service where damage is not covered by your statutory rights.
Website Content and Intellectual Property
The content of this website—including product designs, photographs, text, graphics, branding and guides—belongs to True North Forge or is used with the owner’s permission.
You may not reproduce, sell, distribute or commercially use our content without prior written permission.
Third-Party Services and Links
Our website may use or link to services provided by third parties, including payment providers, delivery companies and social media platforms.
Third-party websites and services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for content or services provided independently by those third parties.
Liability
We do not exclude or limit responsibility where doing so would be unlawful. This includes responsibility for faulty or misdescribed goods, fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the order was placed or for business losses arising from a purchase made as a consumer.
Privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Please read that policy for information about what personal data we collect, why we collect it and how it is used.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service when our products, services or legal obligations change.
The terms applying to an order will be those published on our website when that order is placed.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by Scottish law.
If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom, this does not remove any mandatory legal protections available to you or restrict your right to bring proceedings in a court available to you under applicable law.
