Every piece from True North Forge is handmade to order in our workshop in Scotland and designed for everyday wear. With sensible care and maintenance, your ring or jewellery should continue to look its best for many years to come.

General Jewellery Care

Avoid heavy lifting and harsh activities

We recommend removing your jewellery before heavy lifting, gym workouts or strenuous activities where the ring may be knocked, scratched or placed under unnecessary pressure.

We also recommend removing jewellery before entering swimming pools, hot tubs or saunas due to exposure to chlorine, salt water and extreme heat.

Lotions, oils and perfumes

Apply lotions, oils and perfumes before putting your jewellery on to help reduce residue build-up and maintain the finish.

A quick wipe with a soft lint-free cloth every so often will help keep your ring looking its best.

Every piece we create is designed to be worn and enjoyed. Small signs of wear over time are a natural part of everyday jewellery and often become part of the story of the piece itself.

Metal and Material Care

  • Titanium, Black Zirconium & Stainless Steel

    Titanium, Black Zirconium and Stainless Steel are all highly durable, low-maintenance materials suitable for everyday wear.

    To clean:

    • Use warm water with mild soap
    • Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth
    • Avoid abrasive polishing products

  • Titanium Rings with Natural Inlays

    We recommend:

    • Removing the ring before heavy lifting or high-impact activities
    • Avoiding prolonged exposure to water, chemicals and excessive heat
    • Avoiding harsh cleaning products or abrasive materials
    • Cleaning gently using a soft cloth only

    Natural materials and resin finishes are designed for everyday wear, but sensible care will help preserve their appearance long term.

  • Damascus Steel Rings

    Damascus Steel rings are highly durable and suitable for everyday wear, just like our Titanium, Black Zirconium and Stainless Steel rings.

    To clean:

    • Use warm water with mild soap
    • Dry thoroughly using a soft cloth
    • Use a soft toothbrush occasionally to gently clean within the natural folds and patterning of the Damascus

    Avoid abrasive polishing products or harsh chemicals where possible.

  • Memorial Jewellery Care

    Memorial jewellery requires slightly more care due to the resin and memorial elements used within the design.

    We recommend:

    • Avoiding prolonged exposure to water
    • Avoiding perfumes, lotions and harsh chemicals
    • Removing before swimming or showering
    • Storing in a cool dry place when not worn

    Clean gently using a soft dry cloth only.

    Avoiding prolonged direct sunlight will help maintain long-term clarity.

  • Repolishing Service

    Over time, everyday wear may naturally create light marks or soften certain finishes. We offer a professional repolishing service for True North Forge rings to help restore the original finish where possible.
