How to Send Sand, Shell, Stone or Wood for Your Ring

Creating a ring using material from a place that matters to you is a simple process, and we will guide you through each step.

Whether it’s sand from a beach, a small shell, stone or wood, your material will be carefully prepared and set into your ring by hand in our Scottish workshop.

When to send your material

Please wait until you have placed your order before sending anything.

Once your order is confirmed, we will email you with the address and full details for sending your material safely.

How much to send

Only a small amount is required.

As a guide, a grape-sized quantity is more than enough for your ring.

If what you have is larger, that’s absolutely fine. We will carefully reduce it during the preparation process.

Any unused material will be returned to you with your finished ring.

Suitable materials

We can work with a range of solid, stable materials, including sand, shell, stone, wood, plastic, fabric and crystal.

If you are unsure whether your material is suitable, feel free to get in touch before sending it.

Many customers choose materials that hold personal meaning, such as sand from a favourite beach, stone from a significant place, or wood from something with a story behind it. Each ring becomes a way to carry that connection with you in a simple and lasting form.

What to avoid

To ensure the best result, please do not send damp materials or organic or perishable items, as these can affect both the setting process and the long-term durability of the ring.

Sending your material

Please send your material securely using a small sealed bag and a padded envelope, such as a jiffy bag.

Avoid using standard paper envelopes, as these can be damaged in transit.

Include your name and order number inside the package so we can match your material to your order.

The cost of sending your material to us is the responsibility of the customer.

What happens next

Once your material arrives, we will check it carefully before beginning any work.

If there are any issues or concerns, we will contact you before proceeding.

Your material will then be prepared and set into your ring, creating a completely unique piece with its own character.
