Superconductor Flat Shape Ring – Crafted by True North Forge

A bold fusion of science and style, the Superconductor Flat Shape Ring is handmade in the UK using real Superconductor cable. Originally used in powerful magnetic machines like MRI scanners and particle accelerators, this extraordinary material brings an industrial edge to a sleek and modern ring design. Every piece is a true one-off, made for those who want their jewellery to tell a story.

Crafted from Superconductor Cable
Each ring begins with a single rod of Superconductor cable, revealing striking layered patterns formed by titanium-niobium alloy and copper. The flat shape emphasises these natural textures, creating a powerful look that feels both scientific and artistic.

Polished or Satin Matte Finish
Choose between two distinctive finishes. Our highly polished option offers a mirror-like shine, while the satin matte version brings a softer, more industrial feel. Both are sealed for comfort and longevity.

Handmade and Sealed for Comfort
Shaped and finished entirely by hand in our Scottish workshop, each ring is polished to your preference and protected with a specialist coating. This creates a barrier between the copper and your skin, helping to prevent tarnish and extend wear time.

Industrial Material with a Story
Superconductor isn’t just a material, it’s part of scientific history. Repurposed from cutting-edge technology, its swirling, one-of-a-kind patterns reflect strength, energy, and innovation. This is jewellery with purpose and power.

Care and Wear
Due to the high copper content, we recommend occasional wear rather than daily use. Clean your ring with mild soap and water, then dry thoroughly with a soft cloth. Over time, the protective coating may wear; we include guidance on how to reapply it as needed.

What You’ll Receive
Every order includes free UK shipping and a complimentary ring sizer to help ensure the perfect fit

Ordering & Making Your Ring

What is the best alternative metal for a wedding ring?

There is no single best metal. It depends on your preference for weight, finish and appearance. Titanium is extremely lightweight, Damascus Steel features unique layered patterns, Black Zirconium offers a deep black finish and Stainless Steel provides strength with a classic silver tone. You can compare all options in our Alternative Metal Wedding Rings Guide.

What is the thickness of the ring?

Our rings are crafted with an approximate thickness of 2 mm. This provides a balanced feel that is substantial enough for durability while remaining comfortable for everyday wear. Each ring is shaped and finished by hand, so there may be very slight variations, but all are designed to maintain a consistent and comfortable profile.

How can I check my size before ordering?

There are several ways to confirm your size: you can be measured at any jeweller and ask for the internal diameter, order a ring gauge yourself and let us know the result, use a ring that already fits and send it to us, or request one of our free ring sizers at checkout.
We’ll confirm any sizing details with you before we begin

What happens after I place my order?

After you order, we review your details and begin crafting your ring. If anything needs clarifying, we’ll contact you directly. Once complete, your ring is carefully packaged and sent via tracked UK delivery. You’ll receive tracking details as soon as it’s dispatched.

How long does it take to make a ring?

Most rings are ready within 2–3 weeks, but we recommend allowing 4 weeks before your wedding. Need it faster? Just let us know.

Is engraving included?

Engraving is always free. We can add names, dates, or even your own handwriting inside your wedding ring. To know more about handwriting engraving, take a look at this blog. . If the option is showing on the product listing, it is engravable.

Who actually makes my ring?

Every ring is made to order in our Scottish workshop by hand by Graeme, or G as he is known. We don’t outsource production or hold bulk stock. Your ring is crafted individually once your order is placed, then finished, checked and prepared for dispatch.

What are your return policies?

Because each ring is made to order in your chosen size and finish, returns are not available once production begins. We provide a complimentary ring sizer before crafting to ensure a confident fit.
