Ness Half and Half Stainless Steel Ring
The Ness combines two contrasting finishes within a single Stainless Steel ring, with one half polished and the other satin. A fine 0.5mm open groove separates the two surfaces, creating a clean dividing line around the band.
The contrast changes as the ring moves on the hand. The polished section has a bright, reflective appearance, while the satin section is softer and more muted, allowing two very different finishes to sit within one simple design.
Handmade to order by Graeme in our Scottish workshop using 316L Sheffield Stainless Steel, each Ness is individually made to your chosen size and width.
Half Polished, Half Satin
The defining feature of the Ness is its split finish.
One half of the ring is polished to create a smooth, reflective surface, while the other is given a satin finish with a softer, low-shine appearance.
A narrow 0.5mm open groove runs between the two, providing a clear separation without introducing another material or colour.
Because the finishes respond differently to light, the appearance of the ring changes naturally as it moves on the hand.
Crafted to Endure
The Ness is made from high-quality 316L Sheffield Stainless Steel, chosen for its strength, corrosion resistance and suitability for everyday wear.
Stainless Steel has a reassuring weight on the hand and offers excellent durability while requiring very little maintenance. It will not tarnish and is highly resistant to rust and corrosion under normal everyday conditions.
Like all metals, the surface will naturally develop marks through everyday wear. These tend to be more visible on the polished section than on the satin finish and form part of the natural character of a regularly worn ring.

Every Ness ring is handmade by Graeme in our Scottish workshop and made specifically to your chosen size and width.
Available in sizes up to Z+6, including half sizes.
Engraving can be added to the inside of the band if selected.
Care
Stainless Steel requires very little maintenance. Clean your ring occasionally using mild soap and warm water before drying thoroughly with a soft cloth.
Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaning products, particularly across the contrasting finishes.

What is the best alternative metal for a wedding ring?
There is no single best metal. It depends on your preference for weight, finish and appearance. Titanium is extremely lightweight, Damascus Steel features unique layered patterns, Black Zirconium offers a deep black finish and Stainless Steel provides strength with a classic silver tone. What is the thickness of the ring?
Our rings are crafted with an approximate thickness of 2 mm. This provides a balanced feel that is substantial enough for durability while remaining comfortable for everyday wear. Each ring is shaped and finished by hand, so there may be very slight variations, but all are designed to maintain a consistent and comfortable profile.
How can I check my size before ordering?
There are several ways to confirm your size: you can be measured at any jeweller and ask for the internal diameter, order a ring gauge yourself and let us know the result, use a ring that already fits and send it to us, or request one of our free ring sizers at checkout.

What happens after I place my order?
After you order, we review your details and begin crafting your ring. If anything needs clarifying, we’ll contact you directly. Once complete, your ring is carefully packaged and sent via tracked UK delivery. You’ll receive tracking details as soon as it’s dispatched.
How long does it take to make a ring?
Most rings are ready within 2–3 weeks, but we recommend allowing 4 weeks before your wedding. Need it faster? Just let us know.
Is engraving included?
Engraving is always free. We can add names, dates, or even your own handwriting inside your wedding ring. To know more about handwriting engraving, take a look at this blog. . If the option is showing on the product listing, it is engravable.
Who actually makes my ring?
Every ring is made to order in our Scottish workshop by hand by Graeme, or G as he is known. We don’t outsource production or hold bulk stock. Your ring is crafted individually once your order is placed, then finished, checked and prepared for dispatch.
What are your return policies?
Because each ring is made to order in your chosen size and finish, returns are not available once production begins. We provide a complimentary ring sizer before crafting to ensure a confident fit.
