During a controlled oxidation process, it forms a deep black ceramic-like surface that’s permanently bonded to the metal beneath. It’s fade-resistant, scratch-resistant, and won’t wear off like plated finishes. Its hardness is second only to sapphire, yet it's lightweight and shatterproof — safe to wear and safe to remove in emergencies.
