Crynoch Damascus Steel Court Ring

The Crynoch is defined by movement.

Created through a gentle twist during the forging process, the pattern flows naturally throughout the ring, transitioning between tighter grain and wider sections as it travels around the band. The result is a Damascus pattern that feels full of character and motion while retaining the timeless appearance that makes Damascus steel so distinctive.

Handmade to order in our Scottish workshop, each Crynoch ring is individually crafted from layered Damascus steel and finished by hand by Graeme.

Not sure which Damascus pattern is right for you? We have created a dedicated guide explaining the differences between Esk, Bervie, Crynoch, Findon, Cowie and Dee, complete with photos and pattern comparisons.

A pattern with natural movement

Crynoch features a flowing Damascus pattern that develops naturally throughout the ring. Wider sections gradually transition into tighter grain, creating visual movement without becoming overly busy or dramatic.

The pattern strikes a balance between traditional Damascus character and contemporary visual interest, making it an excellent choice for those who appreciate classic Damascus steel but would like a little more movement and individuality within the design.

No two Damascus rings will ever be identical. Natural variation within the steel ensures every piece carries its own character and detail.

The court profile provides a traditional shape with gentle curves on both the inside and outside of the band, creating one of the most comfortable styles available for everyday wear.

For those who prefer a more defined appearance, the Crynoch is also available in bevel and flat profiles.

Your choice of finish

Available in either polished or satin finish, the Crynoch can be tailored to suit your preferred style.

A polished finish enhances contrast within the Damascus pattern, bringing out the movement and detail within the layered steel.

A satin finish offers a softer, more understated appearance while still allowing the natural grain of the Damascus steel to remain clearly visible.

Crafted to endure

Each ring is created using a high-quality blend of 304L and 316L stainless steels. The result is a durable Damascus steel designed for everyday wear, offering excellent corrosion resistance alongside the distinctive layered appearance that makes Damascus so recognisable.

The Crynoch is completely nickel free, suitable for sensitive skin and designed not to tarnish or discolour your finger over time.

Handmade to order

Every Crynoch ring is handmade by Graeme in our Scottish workshop and crafted specifically to your chosen size.

You can personalise your ring through your choice of width, finish and engraving.

Engraving can be added to the inside of the band. When selected, the interior of the ring is polished to ensure a clear inscription and comfortable finish against the skin.

The Crynoch works particularly well as a wedding ring for those who appreciate movement, individuality and subtle character. Its flowing grain creates a distinctive appearance while maintaining a timeless and highly wearable feel.

Care

Your ring requires only simple care. Occasional cleaning with mild soap and water and drying with a soft cloth will keep it looking its best.

Ordering & Making Your Ring

What is the best alternative metal for a wedding ring?

There is no single best metal. It depends on your preference for weight, finish and appearance. Titanium is extremely lightweight, Damascus Steel features unique layered patterns, Black Zirconium offers a deep black finish and Stainless Steel provides strength with a classic silver tone. You can compare all options in our Alternative Metal Wedding Rings Guide.

What is the thickness of the ring?

Our rings are crafted with an approximate thickness of 2 mm. This provides a balanced feel that is substantial enough for durability while remaining comfortable for everyday wear. Each ring is shaped and finished by hand, so there may be very slight variations, but all are designed to maintain a consistent and comfortable profile.

How can I check my size before ordering?

There are several ways to confirm your size: you can be measured at any jeweller and ask for the internal diameter, order a ring gauge yourself and let us know the result, use a ring that already fits and send it to us, or request one of our free ring sizers at checkout.
