Damascus Steel Wedding Ring with Precious Metal Inlay

The Damascus Steel Wedding Ring with Precious Metal Inlay is one of the signature designs at True North Forge. Handmade to order in our Scottish workshop using premium alternative metals, it combines layered Damascus Steel with a precise 1mm precious metal inlay to create a band that feels both strong and refined.

This handcrafted Damascus Steel wedding ring balances raw texture with a clean, contemporary line of contrast. Forged from folded Damascus Steel, every ring carries its own natural pattern and movement, meaning no two bands are ever the same.

Our Damascus steel is created using a blend of 316L and 304L stainless steels, chosen for their pattern clarity and suitability for everyday wear. The ring is nickel free and suitable for sensitive skin, designed to be worn comfortably as part of daily life.

Not sure which Damascus pattern is right for you? We have created a dedicated guide explaining the differences between Esk, Bervie, Crynoch, Findon, Cowie and Dee, complete with photos and pattern comparisons.

Your 1mm inlay can be crafted from the following precious metals:
• 18ct Yellow Gold
• 18ct Rose Gold
• 18ct White Gold
• Platinum
• Palladium
• Silver

Ring widths are available from 4mm to 8mm, allowing you to choose proportions that suit your hand and style. You can also select a polished finish to sharpen contrast between steel and inlay, or a satin matte finish for a softer, more understated look.

Every ring is handmade to order, with careful attention given to the way the inlay sits within the Damascus pattern. The fine line of precious metal adds depth and definition without overpowering the steel, creating a band that feels balanced, modern, and built to last.

Engraving is available on the inside of the band. When engraving is selected, the interior is polished smooth before your message is added, ensuring clarity and comfort against the skin.

This Damascus steel inlay ring is ideal for those who want a wedding band that feels personal and considered. The contrast between layered steel and precious metal creates a design with meaning and presence, without relying on tradition alone.

Your ring requires only simple care. Occasional cleaning with mild soap and a soft cloth is all that’s needed to keep it looking as intended.

All UK orders include free tracked delivery and a complimentary ring sizer, allowing us to confirm the correct size before crafting begins.

Ordering & Making Your Ring

What is the best alternative metal for a wedding ring?

There is no single best metal. It depends on your preference for weight, finish and appearance. Titanium is extremely lightweight, Damascus Steel features unique layered patterns, Black Zirconium offers a deep black finish and Stainless Steel provides strength with a classic silver tone. You can compare all options in our Alternative Metal Wedding Rings Guide.

What is the thickness of the ring?

Our rings are crafted with an approximate thickness of 2 mm. This provides a balanced feel that is substantial enough for durability while remaining comfortable for everyday wear. Each ring is shaped and finished by hand, so there may be very slight variations, but all are designed to maintain a consistent and comfortable profile.

How can I check my size before ordering?

There are several ways to confirm your size: you can be measured at any jeweller and ask for the internal diameter, order a ring gauge yourself and let us know the result, use a ring that already fits and send it to us, or request one of our free ring sizers at checkout.
We’ll confirm any sizing details with you before we begin

What happens after I place my order?

After you order, we review your details and begin crafting your ring. If anything needs clarifying, we’ll contact you directly. Once complete, your ring is carefully packaged and sent via tracked UK delivery. You’ll receive tracking details as soon as it’s dispatched.

How long does it take to make a ring?

Most rings are ready within 2–3 weeks, but we recommend allowing 4 weeks before your wedding. Need it faster? Just let us know.

Is engraving included?

Engraving is always free. We can add names, dates, or even your own handwriting inside your wedding ring. To know more about handwriting engraving, take a look at this blog. . If the option is showing on the product listing, it is engravable.

Who actually makes my ring?

Every ring is made to order in our Scottish workshop by hand by Graeme, or G as he is known. We don’t outsource production or hold bulk stock. Your ring is crafted individually once your order is placed, then finished, checked and prepared for dispatch.

What are your return policies?

Because each ring is made to order in your chosen size and finish, returns are not available once production begins. We provide a complimentary ring sizer before crafting to ensure a confident fit.
