Crynoch Damascus Steel Flat Wedding Ring

The Crynoch Flat ring puts the movement of Damascus steel into a clean, straight-sided wedding band. Its broad, flat outer profile gives the etched grain a clear surface on which to stand out, making this a distinctive choice for anyone looking for a modern Damascus steel wedding ring rather than a rounded traditional band.

Each Crynoch Flat ring is made to order by Graeme in our Aberdeenshire workshop, with your choice of width, finish and engraving.

Flowing Crynoch grain on a flat profile

The Crynoch pattern develops from a gentle twist in layered Damascus steel. Some areas show tighter grain, while others open into wider, flowing lines. Because the pattern is part of the steel, it varies around the circumference and from one ring to another. The flat outer surface creates a defined silhouette and gives the pattern a different visual effect from the rounded Crynoch Court ring.

Want to see how Crynoch compares with other designs? Our Damascus Steel Pattern Guide includes photographs of Esk, Bervie, Crynoch, Findon, Dee and Cowie.

A contemporary Damascus wedding band

Flat-profile rings have straighter outer lines and a more architectural look than court-shaped bands. The shape works particularly well if you prefer a bold, uncomplicated outline and want the layered steel to be the main feature. For a softer outline, the Crynoch Court ring has a rounded exterior; the Crynoch Bevel adds angled edge detailing.

Made by Graeme in Scotland

Graeme machines and finishes each band in our workshop using layered 304L and 316L stainless steels. Etching brings out the natural Damascus grain, and the completed ring is finished by hand. This is real patterned steel, not a surface print.

Width, finish and engraving

Choose the width that suits your hand and the look you want. A polished finish gives brighter reflections across the flat face; satin creates a softer brushed appearance while retaining the visible grain. If you choose internal engraving, we polish away the etched Damascus pattern on the inside of the band to create a smooth surface for your inscription. Standard engraving is included, and each ring is made to your confirmed size.

Ordering & Making Your Ring

What is the best alternative metal for a wedding ring?

There is no single best metal. It depends on your preference for weight, finish and appearance. Titanium is extremely lightweight, Damascus Steel features unique layered patterns, Black Zirconium offers a deep black finish and Stainless Steel provides strength with a classic silver tone. You can compare all options in our Alternative Metal Wedding Rings Guide.

What is the thickness of the ring?

Our rings are crafted with an approximate thickness of 2 mm. This provides a balanced feel that is substantial enough for durability while remaining comfortable for everyday wear. Each ring is shaped and finished by hand, so there may be very slight variations, but all are designed to maintain a consistent and comfortable profile.

How can I check my size before ordering?
